Fry-Down Judge Spotlight: Nick Nicholson started Eating Alabama around 2018. Nick and wife Jenny decided it was time to really document the amazing food in Alabama and in the South. He always wanted to start a podcast to showcase the Alabama food scene and so began The Eating Alabama Podcast. Judge Spotlight: Comedienne Joy is a long-time supporter of Cahaba River Fry Down and one of its most-beloved characters! She's played many roles for the event including emcee for our virtual events in 2020 and 2021, and will be back this year as judge for #FryDown2023 on Sunday Oct 1 at Cahaba Brewing.Here's how she introduces herself: "I’m Comedienne Joy, The Queen of Clean. I have three great passions in life: food, travel and comedy! I can leave you laughing in your seats or ready to pull up a chair at a restaurant. Yes, my commentary is just that persuasive. We all know that when people are planning their trip, where to eat is at the top of the list.
