Support the Dr. Randy Haddock Legacy Fund to Continue  Cahaba Conservation

Three decades’ of Cahaba conservation are embodied in one amazing person, Cahaba River Society’s Field Director, Dr. Randy Haddock. With your support, his legacy will continue to endure beyond his retirment.

Dr. Randy Haddock’s phenomenal knowledge of Cahaba biodiversity and his infectious joy at its creatures have inspired generations to love this special river.
Join us to honor his incredible career and celebrate his well-deserved retirement!

If the Cahaba had a voice, it would be Randy’s soft-spoken and joyful tenor beckoning you to look closer. Knowing that people take care of places they feel connected to, Randy has inspired thousands of river advocates through recreation, education, and volunteerism to learn about, love and save this iconic river.

Because of Randy, people who want to build and communities that want to grow along the River have learned to honor and protect the Cahaba’s dazzling biodiversity and to safeguard your drinking water.

We have been so grateful for Dr. Randy Haddock’s enduring work and passionate commitment to protecting the Cahaba River and the lives that depend upon it. With his recent retirement, we are even more focused on continuing to strengthen the legacy he has helped build for the future.

Will you give for clean water and the Dr. Randy Haddock Legacy Fund to continue our work?

Your Legacy Gift can support our programs and their impacts for future generations by:

  • Expanding our River Sustainability programs ~ Restoring the Cahaba’s health and safeguarding your drinking water through green infrastructure and low impact development.
  • Protecting your drinking water Seeking permanent conservation easement protection of the 6,000 acres of forested lands owned by the Water Board around the Cahaba and Lake Purdy that keep your drinking water abundant and affordable.
  • Increasing our impact for equity by bridging barriers to nature ~ Exploring CRS’ role to increase water equity and leading community conversations for bridging barriers and ensuring access to nature as a safe and welcoming space for all people.
  • Helping people take action From the proposed quarry in Clay to the proposed prison in Bibb County, and all the broken sewer pipes, muddy runoff from construction sites, and pollution problems in between, CRS is helping people save their River and communities.
  • Raising our next generation of diverse leaders ~ Our CLEAN hands-on river education program for youth is expanding into the Black Belt and online – we’ve produced 19 new river  education and adventure videos in our virtual library that have received over 25,000 views!

People take care of places they feel connected to, and with Randy we have inspired tens of thousands of river advocates through recreation, education, and volunteerism to learn about, love and save this iconic river. People who want to build and communities that want to grow along the River have learned to honor and protect the Cahaba’s dazzling biodiversity and to safeguard your drinking water.

Clean water, a healthy Cahaba, and enjoying the outdoors are even more essential to healthy families and communities. If you have the ability to give, please know how vital your support is now more than ever.

Thank you to those who support the Dr. Randy Haddock Legacy Fund!
