Earth Week: Walking Cleanup of the Little Cahaba River through Leeds, AL

Earth Week 2024 > Monday, April 22nd

From 9 am to 12 pm

Space is limited. Click here to register a group or individual volunteer.

Join us for a walking cleanup of the Little Cahaba River, Dry Creek, and Leeds Memorial Park. The group will meet at Leeds Memorial Park (1159 Montevallo Rd SW, Leeds, AL 35094) at 9:00 am and work until about noon.

On this walking cleanup of the Little Cahaba River in Leeds, you will:

  • Learn about the effects of pollution on the natural environment
  • Help litter prevention efforts
  • Gain awareness of the natural resources in our own backyard

The Cahaba River is only as healthy as the water that flows into it. When we work in these tributaries (smaller creeks and streams that flow into the Cahaba), we clean those waters and capture the litter and pollution before they enter the Cahaba River.

Thank You to our Monday Sponsor!

Our sponsor for Monday is Milo’s Tea. This month, Milo’s is focusing on watersheds and has chosen to sponsor Cahaba River Society’s Earth Week series for the second year in a row! The Little Cahaba and Dry Creek are both upstream of the intake that supplies water for Milo’s, so when they focus on cleaning these waters, they ensure clean water for their product and their community.

Thank You to our Monday Partner!
