The Young Professionals of the Cahaba River Society are Making Waves - Cahaba River Society

The Young Professionals of Cahaba River Society (YPCRS) has been busy since their kickoff meeting on March 27th! They hosted monthly board meetings to develop plans and social gatherings to build community, including a Cahaba River Frydown potluck where they tested catfish recipes, shared ideas for sides and desserts, and discussed their group theme. They are planning percentage nights at fun locations to provide an opportunity to support local restaurants and the group’s future projects. YPCRS’s next event is a trivia night benefiting Cahaba River Society at Lumbar on Wednesday, August 21st, at 7 pm.

Stay up to date with upcoming YPCRS events and opportunities by following them on Facebook and Instagram. If you want to learn more about joining YPCRS to work with other young professionals passionate about protecting and restoring the Cahaba River, fill out this form or email YPCRS President Taylor Stewart at [email protected].

YPCRS members have also participated in Cahaba River Society events and activities, including the annual Cahaba Lily Festival, river cleanups sponsored by Mom’s Basement, and the June Moonlight Tour. Four YPCRS members are working with Cahaba River Society staff to help with communications by volunteering to help produce updated website content, social media posts, and more.

YPCRS is off to a fast start and making a real difference. We are grateful for Taylor Stewart’s leadership and all these amazing volunteers who’ve engaged with YPCRS to help protect and restore the Cahaba River.
