Kelly Samples - Cahaba River Society


Kelly Samples is Cahaba River Society’s Administrative Coordinator. She has over 20 years of administrative experience and a knack for organization and restructuring systems. Kelly manages our office, supports our team, and ensures that Cahaba River Society is efficient and effective in accomplishing our mission to protect and restore the Cahaba River watershed and its rich diversity of people and wildlife.

Kelly was drawn to Cahaba River Society’s focus on improving life for everyone in the river’s diverse peopleshed because she believes water equity is essential for justice and health. Her knowledge, resourcefulness, and dedication to equality for all people positively impacts everyone associated with Cahaba River Society.

Kelly has a long track record working on behalf of equity, diversity, and inclusion and using her organizational skills to advocate for and support underrepresented communities. She realized the difference her talents could make in 2017 when she helped create PRISM, Honda Manufacturing of Alabama’s LGBTQ+ business resource group. She helped facilitate PRISM’s participation with Central Alabama Pride three years in a row, which led to an opportunity to work within Birmingham AIDS Outreach as a legal assistant within the LGBTQ+ legal department.

Kelly is the chapter organizer and leader of Body Liberation Hiking Club Central Alabama, a body-positive outdoor group. She strives to bring the outdoors to all people, regardless of their body size, accessibility, or gender identity.
