Cahaba Lily Festival – May 18th

Lily Fest is an annual celebration of the Cahaba lily at the Cahaba Lily Center in West Blocton. Registration begins at 8 am. Additional information is available on the festival website.

The festival kicks off with a morning program starting at 9:10 am. The program will feature a keynote presentation from Samford University Biology Professor Dr. Larry Davenport. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service tasked Dr. Davenport with describing the Cahaba lily’s anatomy and habitat requirements to determine the flower’s endangered species status. You don’t want to miss Dr. Davenport’s presentation!

After the talks, a delicious potluck lunch is served.

Canoe rentals are available after lunch for self-guided trips to see the lilies. Canoe rentals are $20 per person.
