Melody Ratliff


Melody is the Sustainable Development Project Manager at the University of Alabama at Birmingham where she works to promote healthy and ecologically beneficial built-environment design, construction and policies within 100+ city blocks of UAB’s university campus.

Melody served as Gensler’s Design Resilience Leader for the Latin America region during the signing of the Paris Pledge for Action on Climate Change, where she focused on demand-reduction and leading the sustainability consulting practice area.

A native of Trinidad and Tobago, Melody has a longstanding interest in sustainable landscapes and designing urban agriculture. She is an aspirational master gardener and lives in Crestline with her husband Tom and beloved dogs.
