Cahaba River Fry-Down
COME DOWN, GET DOWN, FRY-DOWN!
Since 2010, the Cahaba River Society has hosted an annual event that not only helps the planet, but also the palate.
The 9th Annual Cahaba River Fry-Down will take place this year on Sunday, September 30, 2018, 12pm-4pm at Railroad Park. The event has become another staple in the Birmingham metro foodie movement, as culinary masters, old and new, battle it out for the top catfish cooking prizes.
In addition to delicious catfish, guests will also enjoy live music, fun activities for children of all ages, and the Fry-Down Beer Garden featuring brews from local craft breweries.
Sponsored generously by Amerex, the Cahaba River Fry-Down supports Cahaba River Society’s work to restore and protect Alabama’s longest remaining free flowing river. Cahaba River Society achieves this mission with projects that focus on minimizing the negative impact on the river and educating as many people as possible on how to do just that. The CRS Shane Hulsey CLEAN Environmental Education Program uses a hands on approach by taking students, teachers, and volunteers to the river for learning programs, river clean ups, and privet pulling. To date, CLEAN has served more than 30,000 youth and teachers.
As well as thanking AMEREX for their generosity, we would like to extend a HUGE thank you to the following sponsors for dedication and contribution to our cause and our event:
Coca-Cola, EBSCO, Vulcan Materials, Davis Architects, America’s First Federal Credit Union, Architecture Works, Bancography, J.H.Berry & Gilbert, AB Riser, Friends of Shades Creek, Weld, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama, First Commercial Bank, Goodwyn Mills & Cawood, Hyde Engineering, McPherson Oil
