New Curriculum Launched in Partnership with UAB - Cahaba River Society

Cahaba River Society launched a new curriculum in 2024. This foundational resource prepares students in the classroom for key topics they will explore during hands-on programs at the river. We developed the curriculum in collaboration with students in the UAB creative writing program.

Classroom Integration

The curriculum includes activities teachers can incorporate into classroom lessons, providing students with preparatory knowledge and context before their field experiences to improve learning outcomes and bridge in-class and field learning.

Alignment with Alabama State Standards

As the Alabama state curriculum evolves, we are committed to updating our materials to align with the latest standards set by the Alabama Department of Education. This ensures our curriculum remains relevant, accurate, and supportive of educational goals.
